May President's Message
Last month in our April Pensogram I talked about all of the important projects that were taking place to improve our facility. I am writing about this again to make you aware of how fortunate we are to have such dedicated members that volunteer their time without the need for recognition. The kitchen project which included major improvements was completed in less than 5 days. This tight schedule was required due to our Clubs busy calendar and scheduled events. Some of the work performed required long hours and specialized skills. Jerry Podesta took the lead and kept the project moving from start to finish sometimes working early in the morning or late in the evening. Luigi Di Bene, Steve Silvestrini and Bob Gonzales were amazing to watch as they performed their magic. These three gentlemen throughout the year are fixing and improving our Club without being asked or recognized. Tom and Giovanni Colombo worked many hours at various stages and their expertise was on full display. At one point Tom Colombo’s health was not 100% and he continued to work and was determined to finish his part of the project without a delay. Dan Barsi’s carpentry skills were amazing. Ryan Morrow is an absolute artist with his stainless steel design and installation. Angelo Faraci and crew took care of the sheetrock, sealing and painting. Our manager Tony Vitrano did some scheduling and coordinated removing the commercial dishwasher and then reinstalling it at the end of the project. All of these gentlemen stepped up when needed and saved our Club thousands of dollars. They will not ask for any special treatment; however I have a request of the membership. When you see any of them at the Club please express your gratitude to these dedicated members. These members are an inspiration to me and make my efforts worth continuing. On behalf of the Officers and Board of Directors, I would like to thank the membership for all of the support you have given us which allows us to move forward with confidence.
