The
San Mateo County History Museum is planning a permanent immigrant
exhibit gallery. Italian immigration fromthe mid 19th century will
be a feature. Museum staff and a committee of Italians have been
gathering objects, photographs, memorabilia and stories to document
Italian culture and contributions in the county. Specific items
that are still needed are: objects and memorabilia from businesses,
clubs, organizations, old photos, a folkloric dance costume and
Italian food preparation objects and memorabilia.
If
you have objects or information that you might want to contribute
to this project, please contact Museum Curator Sheila Braufman.
Her phone number is 650.299.0104 and her email address is Sheila@samhist.com,
or call committee member Roland Giannini at 650.366.8756.
