I
want to thank Mike Martinelli and his wonderful committee for again
chairing our annual Club picnic at Flood Park in Menlo Park. This
year’s event, held on Sunday, August 29, was another great success,
with about 276 members and guests enjoying it. Congratulations Mike,
and thanks again for all your hard work.
My
appreciation and thanks also to Angie and Angelo Fanucchi, including
their fabulous committee, for chairing a most enjoyable sold-out
Toscana Night Dinner-Dance on September 11. The decorations were
out of this world, the food was delicious, and the dancing music
by the Espresso Five Band was superb. It was a job really well done
by all, and a very enjoyable event.
The
Club looks forward to its annual Golf Tournament, with chairperson
Dave Parenti on September 20. This includes a full-course dinner
for the players, their spouses and friends in the evening at the
PIASC. Following this event, is the Bruno Freschet Memorial Bocce
Tournament at Beresford Park on September 26, including a hot lunch
served at the Club. Finally, we look forward to our fun-filled Columbus
Day Italian-American Heritage Celebration in Redwood City and our
Genovese Night Dinner-Dance at the Club on Saturday, October 9.
Chairperson for the Heritage Celebration is Terry Anderlini. Co-chairpersons
for Genovese Night are Alice and Dave Siboldi and Co-chairperson
Elmo De Nevi. More details about these events are in last month’s
Pensogram.
Our
Sicilian Night Dinner-Dance is on Saturday, November 13. Chairpersons
Angela and Romolo Cappello are planning another great dinner-dance
for your enjoyment. The Band will be the famous Nino Piazza’s “Galatica”
(Formerly “New Espresso Band”). Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, special antipasto,
individual salad, pasta, leg of lamb or roasted chicken, potatoes,
vegetables, cannoli, bottled wine, coffee, etc. Please get your
tickets early for this popular event.
Respectfully,
Emil Bagneschi
