MARCH 2004 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

I
want to give a big thank you to Renato and Lubiana Cernobori for chairing
the wonderful Valentine Dinner/Dance. What an elegant and romantic
party! What fabulous decorations! A lot of work for Renato and Lubiana
and their committee, but the results were truly magnificent. Congratulations
and thank you to everyone who was involved with this affair. I am
sorry that we could not accommodate all of you who wanted to come
and bring your friends.
I want to bring to your attention the next three events at the PIASC.
If you wanted to come to the Club’s Crab Feed on February 27, hopefully
you have already obtained your tickets, because the event has been
sold-out for some time. However, if you missed out on the Crab Feed,
you still have time to order your tickets for the Carnevale Night
Dinner/Dance on March 13th and the Scholarship Dinner/Dance on April
3rd.
Chairpersons for Carnevale Night Dino and Marlene Belluomini and their
committee have planned not only an elegant and delicious dinner, including
bottled wine, but also great dancing music by “Italica” (formerly
“New Espresso Band”). If possible, wear a costume, or at least a mask.
This way the event will be a lot more interesting and more fun for
you and everyone else.
Our Scholarship Dinner/Dance on April 3rd, chaired by Ed and Elaine
Battistini, is sponsored by the PSC Scholarship Foundation. The event
features a great dinner and live music for dancing by the popular
Bob Gutierrez Band. It also includes a raffle and silent auction.
It is our objective to raise funds for the Scholarship Fund, and make
it possible for the Foundation to award a number of significant scholarships
to deserving high school seniors who desire to go on to college.
As many of you have requested, the Club will start offering more authentic
Italian food at our dinner meetings and more entertainment or guest
speakers at our other events. We will begin in April by offering baccalá
(or roasted chicken) at our general dinner meeting on the second Tuesday
of the month and special entertainment at our Third Friday Lunch.
Look for details in the Pensogram. Also, let us know if you have any
other ideas or suggestions. We will be happy to consider them.
