As we begin a new year, I want to start out by thanking certain individuals for the last two very successful events of 2003. First is Phyllis and Michael Tognotti, who again chaired the Club’s Children Christmas Party on December 14. Not only was the event enjoyed by one of the largest number of parents and children, but the whole party went off without a hitch, from the lunch for everyone, the gifts for the children, the performance of Santa Claus, to the entertainment (Linda Arnold Show). It was just a wonderful way to enter into the holiday season.

Finally, a big thank you to Pierina and Alfredo Lucchesi for stepping in at the last minute and chairing our Gala New Year’s Eve Party. It was amazing how Pierina and Alfredo rolled up their sleeves right away and went to work. Pierina and Alfredo and their committee made the New Year’s Eve Dinner/Dance a very elegant affair, with outstanding decorations, a wonderful dinner, and great music. Thank you so much Pierina and Alfredo for the wonderful job.

As we begin the New Year, after two successful Installation Dinner/Dances in January, we look forward to Valentine Dinner/Dance on Saturday, February 14, chaired by Lubiana and Renato Cernobori. This reliable and steadfast couple are already hard at work with preparations to ensure that you and your sweetheart will have a very romantic evening. Look for a wonderful Valentine Day party on February 14. For those who enjoy crab, you cannot miss our Crab Dinner at the Club on Friday, February 27. John Minoli, chairperson, and the PIASC kitchen crew have everything lined up for an enjoyable feast. Remember, “All you can eat and drink” at an affordable price. If you enjoyed attending Carnevale Night last year, do not forget to get your costume and tickets early for this year’s event. Chaired again by Marlene Belluomini, this should be another event not to be missed. A lot of fun is planned again for everyone, in costume or not.
