DECEMBER 2003 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

This year’s Columbus Day Celebration held in Redwood City, honoring our Italian heritage, netted $6,959, before matching funds. This amount was donated to the San Mateo County Historical Museum to enhance the permanent exhibit of the Italian Immigrants Photo and Memorabilia collection. The PIASC is very proud of its role in this event.

As usual, December will be a very busy month for the PIASC. Our Workers Dinner is on Sunday, December 7, followed by the Children’s Christmas Luncheon and Party on Sunday, December 14. There will also be the Italian-American Women’s Guild Christmas Dinner-Dance, the Italian-American Citizens Club Christmas Dinner-Dance, as well as other non-club events. Finally, there will be our Gala New Year’s Eve Dinner-Dance on December 31. This final event of the year promises to be the most spectacular event of the year.

Please join us for the last general dinner meeting of the year on December 9 and vote for your  favorite candidates for next year. This year there is some competition  among those running for certain positions. This is good. We welcome the competition and hope there will be more of the same next year. Congratulations to all the candidates who have been elected by acclamation and good luck to all the other candidates.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Let us give thanks for all our blessings and let us remember in our prayers those who are ill or less fortunate than we are.
God Bless You All.
