Our
5th Columbus Day Italian-American Heritage Celebration held at the
Old Courthouse in Redwood City on October 11 was another huge success
– one of the best yet. Many thanks to Terry Anderlini,
chairperson, and to all the committee members for their hard work.
It was indeed a lovely party. It was wonderful to see many of you
enjoying yourselves and celebrating our glorious Italian heritage.
Our Genovese Night Dinner-Dance held at the PIASC the same evening
was also a great success. Attended by approximately 330 people,
it was truly a beautiful event. I want to thank Ubaldo and Alice Siboldi, the chairpersons,
as well as their committee for a wonderful job. Special thanks to
Ubaldo and Alice for making the delicious
ravioli filling and sauce, chef Norman, for preparing the delicious
dinner, and to all the servers. Thanks also to all who attended.
I
want to thank the Freschet family for
their support of the Bruno Freschet Memorial
Bocce Tournament at Beresford Park and all the participants. Congratulations
to the winners.
I encourage your attendance and participation at the next general
meeting on November 11. At this meeting you will have the
opportunity to nominate a well-qualified candidate to run for office
for next year and/or to accept a nomination yourself.
Finally, plan on getting your tickets early for our Sicilian Night
Dinner-Dance on Saturday, November 15. Chaired by Romolo
and Angela Cappello, this event is one
of the year’s most popular events. You will enjoy not only wonderful
hors d’oeuvres, special antipasto, a delicious dinner, special dessert
by none other than Romolo and Angela, but also bottled wine, and beautiful dancing
music by Italica (formerly New Expresso Band). A coupon for ordering your tickets is
provided in this Pensogram.
Sincerely,
Emil Bagneschi
