Peninsula
Italian American Social Club member Tullio Bertini has organized
an Italian film festival for the months of June, July and August.
The films will be shown in our new cultural room upstairs directly
above the front bar on certain Monday evenings starting at 7 PM.
The films will be in Italian with English subtitles; everyone
is welcome, and admission is free.

E TULIPANI ***
Lighthearted
drama of a woman's liberation, as a suburban housewife and mother,
stranded while on vacation, finds a new rewarding life in exotic
Venice. Sweet-natured wish-fulfillment fantasy manages to convince,
thanks to the story's detail and the performance of Licia Maglietta.
Year 2000 film, 114 minutes. PG-13.

husband has gone off to war and who must suffer the brunt of small

All
work and no play may make Sandy a dull girl, unless she can escape
from the clutches of her over-protective mother. The opportunity
comes when Sandy is sent on a three-month modeling assignment in
Rome. Her mother thinks Sandy needs a strict tutor, but complications
arise when a handsome janitor impersonated Sandy's real teacher,
a priest. Rated PG, 100 minutes.
Films
start at 7 PM. Entrance will be from the small door located to the
right of the main entrance. Door will close at 7:30 PM. After the
movie, if people are interested in discussing the film, in either
in Italian or English, they may stay a while.
