MAY 2003 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

I congratulate and thank chairpersons Ed and Elaine Battistini and their wonderful committee for a very successful and enjoyable Scholarship Dinner/Dance on April 12. A total of 253 members and guests attended the event.  Everyone seemed to have a really good time.  A great big thanks also to everyone who donated cash and items for the silent auction and raffle.

On Sunday, May 4, the PIASC will hold its annual Mother’s Day Dinner to honor our mothers and to celebrate Mother’s Day. Chairpersons are Frank and Franca Benvenuto and Cliff and Terri Goodwine.  These chairpersons promise everyone a wonderful dinner and a great time.  As in the past, Cliff will also present each mother with a beautiful flower. For entertainment, popular singer Pasquale Esposito will be singing some of your very favorite Italian songs. I invite you to come and enjoy a wonderful afternoon with your family at the PIASC.

Our next regional dinner-dance is Venetian Night on May 10. Tickets are still available, but the event is selling out fast. Chairpersons Mark and Sandy Peruzzaro and their committee are hard at work preparing for this special event.  The evening will feature a real Venetian theme, with great decorations, a special menu, bottled wine, and the very popular Lou Roselli Band.

Our final event in May will be somewhat different.  It is called Festa dei Cacciatori, on May 31.  If you attended this event last year, you will know what I mean when I say it was wonderful. Exquisite cuisine, dessert, bottled wine, and music for dancing by the Steve Balich Band are all included in the package.

I wish you all a wonderful month of May.
Ricordiamo Le Nostre Care Mamme!            “Happy Mother’s Day”!
