It
took nearly 40 years, but Army Captain Humbert Roque Versace finally
got the Medal of Honor. President George W. Bush awarded it posthumously
in aWhite House ceremony July 8 to his family and friends, who formed
the group Friends of Rocky Versace that for years had lobbied the
government to recognize this forgotten hero.
