AUGUST 2002 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

As many of you may know, for the past 16 years, the PSC and PARCA have sponsored the Festa Italiana di San Mateo, which has raised $1.2 million for people with developmental disabilities. This coming Sunday’s (July 28) three-block long street fair on B Street culminates Festa’s month-long series of events. I hope to see many of you at this year’s fair. The PSC is proud to be able to support such a worthy cause.

The Western Night committee, including chairman Joe Lencioni, is hard at work on plans for the PSC Western Night Dinner- Dance on Friday, August 16 (please note the change in date). We will have a delicious western-style BBQ steak dinner (with BBQ chicken, as an option), games, and dancing to the music of the Ron Zucca "Cowboy" Band.

We look forward to this year's PSC Picnic on Sunday, August 25. According to chairman, Mike Martinelli, it will be as great, if not better than last year. The location will be the same, Flood Park/Oak Area in Menlo Park, a perfect setting for our picnic. Join us for food, drink, games, and entertainment.

Our annual PSC Golf Tournament and dinner will take place on September 9. Chairman, Larry Parenti informs me that plans are coming along well for this event. Also, plans for Toscana Night on Saturday, September 14 are looking good. As last year, this year's Toscana Night Dinner-Dance should be a very elegant affair. Look for exciting decorations, a great menu, and beautiful music by the George Campi Band. Chairman Angelo Fanucchi and his committee are working hard to make this a very special event.

Respectfully, Emil Bagneschi
